Divergent Adventures was founded and directed by Gene Taylor. The company has two other adventure travel companies, iConquer Adventures and The Walking Connection, founded in 1989. Gene has more than a decade of experience in creating and leading groups of autistic students, including adventures into the depths of the Grand Canyon and to the heights of Mt. Kilimanjaro. His collective experience includes developing training and conducting outdoor and nature-based travel adventures in more than 30 countries. He specializes in delivering unique travel experiences for members of the entire family.

Visit Mesa is the official destination marketing organization for Mesa, Arizona, and its neighboring communities. Mesa became the first U.S. city designated as an Autism Certified City by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). That certification has led them to become a world leader in destination management for autism travel by municipalities, governmental agencies, and businesses large and small. Through their Arizona community and business partnerships, they have set the standard for acceptance and inclusion, along with an impressive list of Autism Certified Centers, which are businesses that have undergone training in the service of autistic visitors and their families.
