And here's the best part: you'll be joined by 12 carefully selected university students from Europe and North America. So you'll not only have an adventure of a lifetime, but you'll also get to connect with like-minded individuals from different backgrounds.

To participate, you'll need to meet a few requirements. First, you must be enrolled in an accredited college or university. Second, you'll need to complete the Divergent Adventures virtual pre-trip 10-Week Adventure Education Course. This course will provide the necessary knowledge and skills for the journey ahead.

Your adventure begins with the Divergent Adventures Adventure course. It's a 10-week virtual-based adventure training to help prepare you for your trip. But more on that later.
Your trip "Down Under" begins in Launceston, Tasmania. No worries. We'll help get you there! You'll soon learn that there is a world of difference between here and the rest of Australia.

We'll walk Cataract Gorge in Launceston and then travel the countryside to Hobart, the State Capital. MONA (Museum of Old & New Art) is one of the world's most unique and amazing museums is in the city's heart. Created and owned by David Walsh, a member of the neurodiverse community, we'll spend a day exploring and learning in one of Australia's most fascinating and inspirational places. We may be fortunate to meet Mr. Walsh as he is frequently on the property.
We'll walk the Dove Lake Circuit and explore Cradle Mountain National Park, Russell Falls, Mt. Wellington, Bonorong Wildlife Zoo, Wineglass Bay, and a lot more.

Next is Sydney! We'll walk the Sydney Harbor Bridge, Royal Botanic Gardens, and "The Rocks." We'll take in the famous Sydney Opera House, Bondi Beach, and Taronga Zoo.

Led by expert interpretive local guides, they help bring each aspect of the adventure alive. Rich in stories, local facts, science, and global views, from the countryside to bustling city streets, students experience Australia from a familiar perspective. With assistance always by their side, it is an extraordinary opportunity to test lessons learned, apply new-found skills, and share the experience with other like-minded students.

Adventure Itinerary

Many planned activities are organized according to availability, events or seasonal dates, appropriate weather conditions or the discretion of our guides. Day 1 – Launceston – Cradle Mountain
Start your journey to UNESCO World Heritage-listed Cradle Mountain National Park. Enjoy an introduction to this fascinating alpine environment before arriving at your lodge accommodation.
Overnight: Cradle Mountain (2 Nights)

Days 2 – Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake
Learn about the region's many endemic fauna and flora species whilst enjoying picturesque views on your walk beneath the spectacular craggy peaks of Cradle Mountain. Along the way, you will observe the bird life typically involving species such as Forest Ravens, Currawongs, and Wedge-tailed Eagles. In the evening visit Devils@Cradle Wildlife Sanctuary to gain insights about the world’s largest carnivorous marsupial and witness a feeding of this unique species.

Day 3 – Cradle Mountain – Freycinet National Park
After breakfast leave rugged Cradle Valley. Visit a local Tasmanian salmon farm and learn about farming. Discover Brickendon, a 7th-generation working farm that has been UNESCO Heritage listed for its convict history. Your host for this private tour will be one of the family members. Enjoy lunch at an award-winning winery in the Tamar Valley before traveling to Tasmania’s East Coast, with its exceptional beauty, pristine white sandy beaches and granite coastline.
Overnight: Freycinet Lodge, (2 Nights)

Day 4 – Freycinet National Park – Wineglass Bay
Today, there will be ample time to explore the unsurpassed beauty of the Freycinet National Park. Take an interpreted walk to the world-famous Wineglass Bay lookout for stunning photo opportunities. A shorter cliff top walk around the Cape Tourville lighthouse is also available.

Day 5 – Freycinet Peninsula – Hobart – Salamanca Market
Enjoy a scenic drive south along the East Coast, passing through the sleepy fishing villages of Swansea, Triabunna, and Orford, with a morning tea stop along the way at a local berry farm. Spend the afternoon in Hobart at your leisure. You may like to walk through Hobart’s legendary Salamanca Markets, set among the colonial sandstone buildings; this vibrant and colorful market is one not to be missed.

Day 6 – Bonorong – Mt Field National Park
This morning travel to Bonorong Wildlife Park to experience Tasmanian Devils, Wombats, Wallabies, Echidnas, Quolls, Koalas, and other Australian animals firsthand. Continue to Tasmania’s first National Park, filled with ancient tall trees, rainforest waterfalls, and unique glacier-sculpted landforms demonstrating Australia’s geological links with Antarctica.

Day 7 – Bruny IslandDepart Hobart and travel south for a day on Bruny Island, sampling local produce and enjoying scenic walks. This island is a peaceful oasis where time seems to stand still. Stop at Isthmus Beach with a short climb to the lookout over both halves of Bruny Island. Sample Bruny Island’s culinary delights at the Berry Farm, and taste oysters fresh from the sea before enjoying lunch with fresh local produce.

Day 8 - Hobart - A Day AT MONA

Day 9 – Hobart Departure - Sydney
Enjoy a leisurely morning before your transfer to Hobart airport. It is time to bid the island farewell.
